How Much Should You Charge for an Enneagram Workshop? (Coach Series)
Aug 24, 2026
This post is based on Episode 8 of our podcast, Bringing the Enneagram to Groups,"How Much Should You Charge for an Enneagram Workshop?"
If there's one question we hear more than any other from Enneagram coaches thinking about adding workshops, it's this one. And it usually comes with a little self-doubt attached..."Am I charging too much? Too little? What does everyone else charge?"
Here's the truth: there's no single right number. But there is a right process for landing on your number, and that's what we want to walk through here, along with a transparent look at what we actually charge, so you have a real reference point instead of just a guess.
Start With Your Own Numbers
Before you think about the market, your competitors, or industry averages, start here: what do you actually need to make for this to be worth your time?
That answer is going to look different depending on your situation. Maybe workshops are a side revenue stream complementing other income. Maybe, like for us, this is how you pay your bills, take care of your family, keep the lights on. Neither is wrong, but they lead to very different numbers.
And "worth your time" isn't just the hours you spend in the room. It's prep time. Travel time. Follow-up time. It's your break-even once you factor in every tool and expense that goes into actually running your business: Zoom, scheduling software, Canva, podcast hosting, your website, continuing education, any support staff who help behind the scenes. All of that goes into the price, whether it's visible to the client or not.
If you're losing money on a workshop, it doesn't matter how much you love doing it, that math doesn't work long-term, even if this is just a passion project for you right now.
Consider the Value You're Actually Delivering
The next question: what's the real impact of this workshop for your client?
Better communication. Reduced conflict. A team that comes together stronger after a merger. Improved retention. A more empathetic leadership team. The more tangible the outcome, the more confidently you can, and probably should, charge.
This is also where it's worth separating two different things: the workshop itself, and the transformation it creates. A two-hour session full of great content is worth something. A team that walks away communicating better, with less conflict and stronger cohesion, is worth something else entirely. Don't just price the hours, price the outcome!
Don't forget to account for everything wrapped around the session too; things like: pre-work, post-workshop reports, follow-up access, any coaching or typing sessions included. Decide what's part of the package and what's priced separately.
Know Who You're Serving
A 12-person nonprofit and a 200-person global enterprise are not working with the same budget, even if you're delivering the exact same content. Who you're serving matters.
Group size matters too. Does more people in the room mean more value delivered? I'd argue it does, but it's worth thinking through for yourself. Impacting a team of 15 can shift real dynamics. Sharing the same material with a room of 500 reaches a very different scale of value. Your own logistical load (prep, travel, materials) factors in here too, and can push your pricing up or down depending on what a session actually requires of you.
Factor In Where You Are in Your Own Journey
New facilitator or seasoned one? This matters more than people give it credit for.
Charging less when you're just starting out isn't devaluing yourself, but rather, it's a strategy, as long as it's intentional. Early on, yes, you're getting paid, AND you're getting practice, testimonials, and feedback that let you charge more with confidence later. Social proof does real work here: testimonials and case studies help a client feel good about hiring you, which affects what you can charge.
Your capacity matters too. If you can only realistically take on two workshops a quarter, does your pricing reflect that scarcity?
Look at the Market, But Don't Copy It
Industry norms are worth knowing. They're a useful sanity check. But treat them as a loose reference point, not a rulebook, because everyone else's number is built on their own version of the four considerations above, and those variables are rarely the same as yours.
A few format factors worth thinking through here too:
- Virtual vs. onsite: does the time, energy, and travel difference justify a price gap for you?
- One-time session vs. ongoing relationship: a standalone retreat workshop and a session that kicks off a longer program are two different pricing conversations.
Our Actual Numbers (So You Have a Real Reference Point)
We believe in being transparent about this, so here's where our pricing sits right now for a standalone workshop experience (we call them experiences intentionally because there's a lot that happens before and after the session itself):
- Two-hour experience: $3,500
- Half-day: $5,000
- Full-day: $8,000
Notice it's not simply linear. A half-day isn't double the two-hour rate. Assessments (paid Enneagram Institute reports or our free quiz option), printed guidebooks, and travel are all priced separately on top of that.
How We Handle Travel: The Flat Fee Approach
We use a tiered flat travel fee rather than invoicing actual expenses after the fact. It's simpler for us, and just as important, it means there are no surprises for the client after a great workshop experience. Nobody wants their last impression of a wonderful day together to be an unexpected bill.
Our tiers roughly break down by distance: a flat fee for regional drives under two hours, a slightly higher tier for four-to-six-hour drives, and a fuller flat fee for flights that includes two hotel nights (so we're never rushing in or rushing out because workshops run long more often than you'd think).
Could you invoice expenses afterward instead? Sure. We just find the flat fee keeps things predictable for everyone, and keeps the post-workshop relationship focused on the work, not the paperwork.
One More Thing: We Put Our Pricing on Our Website
This is a personal preference, but it comes from thinking like a buyer. We don't love getting on a call without at least a range in mind. Is this a $300 conversation or a $5,000 one? Nobody wants to spend 30 minutes on a discovery call only to find out the number is wildly outside their budget.
Putting a range (or exact pricing) out there upfront respects everyone's time, both yours and theirs.
The Takeaway
There's no universal "right" price for an Enneagram workshop. But there is a real process: know your own numbers first, understand the value you're creating, know who you're serving, be honest about where you are in your journey, and use the market as a reference point but never a rulebook.
